Headstones

I guess I should write something
So caught up in this balance
For once I didn’t notice

I took a walk to see who had died for me
And who was still in the ground
Their stones overturned

Do you know if your death is going to cause this planet to fall apart?
Will you cause a thought to prove science is the art?

A glint from a stone drew me off guard
It pulled me off of the path
But the fence was still there

All I could do was look and continue
I knew they were smiling

And so I would too one day
After I had died
And you took a walk and maybe you found me

This is an appreciation for life.
